Myrthe de Boon is an Academy Project Fellow and joined the Clingendael Institute in April 2024. Her work revolves around the inner workings of the European Union, effective influencing in Brussels and cyber security courses. Myrthe has a keen interest in policymaking surrounding tech-issues – ranging from AI to cyber – combined with a distinct EU perspective. 

Prior to joining Clingendael, Myrthe worked as a policy advisor at the European Parliament. She specialised in issues surrounding commercial spyware, like the misuse of, and trade in, surveillance spyware. She also worked as a Public Affairs Consultant.  

Myrthe completed a master’s degree in Political Theory and a master’s degree in European External Policy at the University of Amsterdam.
